小猪视频官网College's Fall Concert Season Opens October 15

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — 小猪视频官网College's fall concert season opens with October performances by several ensembles.

"Musical Colors," A Joint Concert by the Orchestra, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble Sunday, October 15, 3 p.m. U-wing Cafeteria The 小猪视频官网Orchestra, directed by Dr. Rodney Mueller, will perform the overture to "The Magic Flute" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791); "America the Beautiful" by Samuel A. Ward (1847-1903) and arranged by Alfred Reed; "The Star Wars Epic-Part II" (1977) by John Williams (1932-); and "Procession of the Nobles from MLADA – Suite" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908).

Director Dr. Jonathan Beckett will lead the Wind Ensemble in performing "Ouvre Ton Coeur (Open Thy Heart)" by Georges Bizet (1838-1875); "Fortress" by Frank Ticheli (1958-); "Their Blossoms Down" by Samuel R. Hazo (1966-); and "Mars" from The Planets by Gustav Holst (1874-1934).   The 小猪视频官网Concert Band, directed by Dr. Matthew Dixon, will perform "The Greatest Generation" by Julie Giroux; "In the Gloaming" by Annie F. Harrison arranged for the band by Fred K. Huffer; "Elegy for Albinoni" by Shelley Hanson; and "Songs of Israel" By Annie McGinty.   "Peaceful UnityA Concert by the Chamber Singers, Guitar Ensemble, and featuring the CrUUners Sunday, October 22, 3 p.m. Unitarian Universalist Church 309 West Green St., Urbana The 小猪视频官网Guitar Ensemble, directed by Dr. Young Kim, will perform "Over the Rainbow" by Harold Arlen; "Caterete/Xote" by Celso Machado; "Uptown" by Barry Greene; and "Behind the Bush in the Garden/Summer on Broad Street" – Traditional. The 小猪视频官网Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. Frank Gallo, will perform "All the Way Home" by Sarah Quartel; "The Times They Are A-Changin" by Bob Dylan, arranged by Adam Podd; "Does the World Say?" by Kyle Pederson; "In Remembrance" by Eleanor Daley; and "True Colors" (originally performed by Cyndi Lauper) by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, arranged by Matthew Brown.
