СÖíÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøCollege to Honor Veterans in a Ceremony Friday, November 10

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — СÖíÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøCollege honors the women and men who serve in the U.S. military and veterans. The college invites the community to attend its 2023 Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, November 10, at 11 a.m. in the cafeteria area of the Student Union (U building).

Parkland's ceremony includes the singing of the National Anthem by СÖíÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøstudents Cadin Dozier and Sydney Philips; the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance led by Charles Mingee, a СÖíÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøstudent and Navy veteran; a welcome by Vice President for Student Services Michael Trame; and the presentation of campus veterans and order of service by Joshua Stone, a СÖíÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøstudent and Navy veteran.  The featured speaker for the event will be Capt. Trey Coffey, a veteran of the U.S. Army. Guests will observe a moment of silence, with the playing of Taps, before closing remarks by Jacob Olson, a СÖíÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøstudent and Marine and Army veteran.  The 2023 Veterans Day observance is sponsored by the Student Veterans Association at СÖíÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø().
