Carter Jeffries Named MWAC Player of the Year

Bruno Williams Jr. Also Named to First Team

Two players from 小猪视频官网Men’s Basketball were awarded All-Conference honors by the coaches of the Mid-West Athletic Conference. Carter Jeffries and Bruno Williams Jr. were each chosen as part of the First Team, and, in addition, Jeffries was chosen MWAC Player of the Year. The Cobras finished their 8-game conference slate with a record of 5-3, good enough for a tie for second-place.

Jeffries, the sophomore guard from Niles, Mich., was second in the conference in both points per game (17.2) and 3-point baskets (72). He was third in blocks (16), fifth in 3-point percentage (36.9%), and seventh in overall shooting percentage (46.8%).

The Buchanan High School alum was twelfth in the conference in steals (22) and fourteenth in assists (45). He had a conference-season-high of 25 points against Lincoln Land on February 29th, and he went 6-7 from beyond the arc in the February 5th game with Danville Area.

Williams Jr., the sophomore guard/forward from Milwaukee, Wis., was fourth in the conference in both rebounds per game (6.8) and assists per game (3.1). He was sixth in two categories as well, points per game (13.3) and steals (33).

The Wisconsin Lutheran High School alum recorded a conference-season-high of 20 points against Danville Area on February 26th. He hauled down 11 rebounds in four conference games, the latest being the same February 26th game against DACC.
