We are especially excited to gather the 小猪视频官网community to hear Mayor Williams' reflections as the newest mayor of the City of Urbana, and we are celebrating a couple of days early to accommodate his busy schedule.

Additionally, we invite you to visit the 小猪视频官网tent at the community-wide Juneteenth Celebration that will take place Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 12鈥�3 pm at Douglass Park in Champaign. We hope you will join us in this celebration that honors the resilience and contributions of African Americans within our community and across the country.
Mayor Williams
DeShawn Williams is the 51st Mayor of the City of Urbana, a husband, father, and committed public servant known for his dedication to community empowerment and service. With a strong background in public finance and civic leadership, Mayor Williams brings a results-driven approach to governance, rooted in transparency, inclusion, and sustainable development.
Prior to his election, he served as Chief Deputy Treasurer and later as Interim Treasurer for Champaign County, where he gained extensive experience in financial stewardship and public accountability. He is also the founder and owner of BlackVest Money, LLC, a financial literacy organization that provides critical education and tools to both youth and professionals, helping individuals and families build lasting economic stability.
Mayor Williams is deeply guided by the principle that 鈥測ou have to become the change you want to see.鈥� He views leadership as a platform to uplift others, lead by example, and create long-term positive impact for the residents of Urbana and beyond. His work continues to reflect a steadfast commitment to equity, community engagement, and generational progress.
